Model Railroad Planning 2020
QUEBEC & LABRADOR + NEWFOUNDLAND
This the third of four volumes of SPV's COMPREHENSIVE RAILROAD ATLAS OF NORTH AMERICA covering Canada and includes the provinces of Quebec and Newfoundland & Labrador. The Atlas shows all currently operated common carrier, tourist and major industrial railroads along with abandoned routes. Lines shown as electrified or narrow gauge are shown only as such when they are currently so equipped or were at abandonment. Lines built as narrow or broad gauge and subsequently regauged are shown as standard gauge. It should be noted that some lines shown as "in service" may see very infrequent use whilst some "abandoned" lines may, if the tracks remain in place, be reactivated for a special movement.Every effort has been made to show all current operating locations as defined in railroad operating timetables.
The IOWA INTERSTATE
In Transition 1999-2010Iowa had a lot of railroad lines and most are gone now, including mainlines of the Milwaukee Road and the Chicago Great Western. It is fortunate the Iowa Interstate was created to keep the old Rock Island Line across Iowa in operation. A true "regional", the road invented a color scheme that attractively combines the school colors of the two largest public universities in the state: the cardinal and gold of Iowa State University and the black and gold of the University of Iowa. It has evolved into a dynamic, interesting rail line. Captured by J. D. Larson, the period of time that is covered in this production covers a real transition for the Iowa Interstate Railroad from 1999 to 2010.Our coverage of the IAIS is in and around Des Moines. The Iowa Interstate was formed on November 2nd, 1984, using former Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific tracks between Chicago, Illinois, and Omaha, Nebraska. The common power in this era of the IAIS were several older GP7, 8, 9 and 10's.Also, many GP38 and GP38-2's were common. They also ran a few MLW M-420R's.The video concludes when the IAIS took delivery of new GEVO locomotives.Take a step back in time to see why this regional flourishes today!* Running Time 117 minutes * Color/4:3 full screen, stereo sound * Narration on/off feature By C.Vision Productions

Montana Rail Link "EMDs in the Rockies" Vol.2 The West End
In Volume 2 of our coverage of the Montana Rail Link, we follow the railroad's mainline from Helena, Montana to Sandpoint, Idaho, over the MRL's 3rd and 4th Subdivisions. In addition to the mainline, the 9th and 10th Subdivisions are also covered. On the 3rd Sub, trains are seen as they negotiate the steep grades and tight curves of Mullan Pass. This is true mountain railroading, and MRL puts on an impressive show. We visit Missoula, and then take a quick tour of the 9th Subdivision, also known as the Darby or Bitterroot Branch. From DeSmet, we follow the 10th Subdivision to Paradise. The 10th Sub is home to Evaro Hill, and features some incredible scenery along the Flathead River. Next, we head back to DeSmet to cover the 4th Subdivision to Sandpoint, Idaho. Following the course of the Clark Fork River in western Montana, the 4th Sub is nothing short of spectacular. Near the far west end of the MRL, trains are seen as they travel along the pristine waters of Lake Pend Oreille, one of the most beautiful lakes Idaho has to offer.Along with MRL's LM and ML trains, we also cover the railroad's west end local operations. The Darby, Paradise, and Gas Locals are all seen as they go about their assigned chores. MRL's fleet of blue EMDs has never looked better, and you'll enjoy seeing these units operating through some of the most scenic landscapes in the region. BNSF powered trains are also viewed, as they travel across the MRL system.Come along with C. Vision Productions, as we tour the western portion of this fascinating railroad, in "Montana Rail Link, EMDs in the Rockies, Volume 2, the West End".* Running Time 2 hours * Color/HiFi Stereo Sound* 16:9 Widescreen DVD * Narration On/Off Feature * 1 hours 10 minutes running time.
